7 Reasons a 9–5 Can Be Cool 😎

Hi friend,

While settling into the groove of my new 9–5 role at CrowdStrike, I’ve been seeing [and feeling] the differences between entering a company’s established rhythm versus navigating the unpredictable entrepreneurial landscape…alone.

It feels so nice to have a team and a boss–people to engage with with a shared purpose 🙌🏽. It also turns out that I love the stability and predictability offered by so many frameworks and systems already in-place in a 9-5 environment.

What I’m finding is that having a 9-5 can really contribute to nervous system regulation while also allowing us to both experiment and feel supported.

In this week’s episode, I reflect on seven reasons why I think having a 9-5 can be pretty cool, which are also seven reasons why I am grateful for this new gig. These reasons are compared and contrasted with my experience as an entrepreneur, and in some ways I touch on how having this job actually helps my business (but more on this in another episode 😘).

I am finding it revelatory to experience this transition with the lessons and lenses I’ve acquired through running my own business(es), and am excited to share my learnings in near-real time with you.

Tune in and let me know what you think.

Yes, there are plenty of ways a job may be dysregulating to the nervous system, but is it possible that there are also a number of ways our jobs make our lives better, too?
