ππ½ under eating
ππ½ codependency
ππ½ irritability
ππ½ having anxiety

ππ½ feeling disconnected

These are signs and symptoms of nervous system dysregulation.
Theyβre ways that we have learned to cope with feeling unsafe and/or employed as methods to manipulate situations or people to try and feel in control, seen, understood, or validated and accepted.
To try and emulate a state of safety.
Theyβre considered protectors, as theyβre the way(s) in which we try to protect ourselves from our surroundings. From the way certain situations are making us feel.
When we're not feeling safe, whether a threat is real or perceived, we will engage in our protectors, thus, we will not act from a free, or liberated, or sovereign, or authentic self.
When we are using a protector, when we are acting out of a protection mechanism, consciously or unconsciously, we cannot be acting from our true selves.
In this weekβs episode, I go through how underrated safety is, and yet the key role that safety plays in our lives. I delve into the signs and symptoms of feeling unsafe or having an activated nervous system, and ways in which we reestablish safety in our bodies and minds.
And we also talk about why the ability to regulate ourselves is essential to cultivating and contributing to environments that are safe for others.
If this resonates, give episode 70 a listen. ππ½
